MyTax.co.nz – How It Works

Step One

You fill out our simple 1 step questionnaire found here.

It’s nice and simple – you will need to have your contact details, your IRD number handy and some basic details regarding your income and work. The whole process is hosted on our secure webpage, for your protection.

And don’t forget to have your Fly Buys card handy so you can claim Fly Buys on your refund.

Step Two

We receive your application for a tax refund and you collect 10 Fly Buys Bonus Points if this is your first refund for the year. We do all the hard work, link you to our tax agency and calculate whether you have any tax refunds owed to you over the past 5 years.

If we find you have tax to pay in any year we will simply leave that year untouched. You will never have to pay tax with mytax.co.nz. And we don’t charge a cent if you don’t get a tax refund.

Step Three

We prepare and file your tax returns with the Inland Revenue Department for only the years you are owed a refund.

Step Four

The IRD pay your refund into our trust account. We check your refund, complete the required paperwork and send you your refund by cheque or direct credit less our fee. You also collect standard Fly Buys Points on your fee.
